Fly Equinox Announces Inaugural Routes and Flight Times
Johannesburg, South Africa — Fly Equinox is thrilled to announce its first two routes, marking the official launch of our virtual airline. Our maiden flights will connect our hub at O. R. Tambo International Airport (FAOR) with two of South Africa's most dynamic cities: Cape Town and Durban.
The single aircraft operating on launch day will first depart from FAOR at 09:30 SAST and arrive in Cape Town (FACT) at approximately 11:40 SAST. This flagship service will provide a total flight time of around 2 hours and 10 minutes.
After a quick 1-hour turnaround on the ground at Cape Town, the aircraft will then fly back to Johannesburg, departing FACT at 12:40 SAST and arriving back at FAOR at 14:50 SAST.
The second inaugural route will depart from FAOR at 15:40 SAST for King Shaka International Airport (FALE) in Durban, arriving at approximately 16:40 SAST. This allows for a swift 50-minute turnaround in Johannesburg, which is a realistic timeframe for a light cleaning and restocking of depleted inventory before the evening service. The return flight to Johannesburg will depart from FALE at 17:30 SAST and arrive back at FAOR at 18:30 SAST.
"We are excited to bring a new level of service and a fresh perspective to virtual domestic travel," said Senior Captain and Founder, Nicolai Jensen. "We look forward to welcoming you aboard and sharing this new journey with you."
